| Have done this paint job a few times and got tired of trying to cut all those perfect circles by hand...ended up drawing the design on the computer...exporting as an Illustrator file and e-mailing it to my local sign shop where he let his plotter do all the precision cutting work on some vinyl. For about $20 I got enough to do 3 tops with this scheme. |  |

| After a shadow of black the fun begins. Start with white in your airbrush and make close sweeping stripes like the ones above in all different angles, next I put a few drops of black in my white and put many grey lines, then some with thinned black. The next step is to fog in the rest with a medium grey tha will make all of the lines more subtle. | |

| Up close it looks a little sloopy, but this simple technique give some good dimension to the design & it is not over used. | |

| Remove the masking for the lime green stripes and first continute the black drop shadow...then a few thin coasts of a custom lime green mix and backed with white. | |

| After a quick hairdryer moment I remove the rest of the masking and spray the solid areas of the white...not several coats, just enough to avoid overspray from the bright red/orange from settling in the grooved and back of the car. Next I spray some neon red, neon orange, then neon yellow. Notice there is not much red left when the orange backs it....all that transparent ink makes smooth fades much easier. Finish with a few coats of white over all the colors, then let it dry/cure for a few days and put a coat of Pactra metalic silver or white just to give it that extra feul proofing and make it a little tougher. To further reinforce the body you can smear on a thin layer of Shoe Goo or even Goo some extra pieces of lexan in the rub prone spots like over the pipe. | |
